Shore Regional senior infielder/catcher Todd Juliano, one of the top hitters in the Shore Conference, has verbally committed to the University of Tampa, a strong Division II program, according to Blue Devils coach Jeff Karpell.
Juliano, who carries a 3.2 grade-point average as well, is hitting .486 with a Shore Conference-leading six homers along with 15 runs scored and eight stolen bases. Juliano has 21 career home runs and last season was also one of the top players in the Shore, hitting .576 with four homers, 34 rus scored and 20 stolen bases. That gives Shore two prominent recruits, as senior lefty Rob Corsi has already committed to Duquesne.
Also, on the football front, Red Bank Catholic linebacker Anthony Lubischer, a Fordham recruit, has reportedly replaced Southern linebacker Glenn Carson for the New Jersey squad in the New Jersey-Northeast Classic at Rutgers Stadium on June 7 because Carson is out with a back injury.
