Scouting Reports on Some Shore Conference Players

Hey everyone, I got these reports from MJF College Football Recruiting.com, and they came from a combine last month run by former Notre Dame star and NFL quarterback Terry Hanratty in which several Shore players participated. They give some opinions and stats on some players you know and others you don’t, so I feel like it’s a little appetizer as we get ready for the preseason to get rolling this coming week.

Running Back

George Stephens – Asbury Park HS, NJ – 5’10”, 185 lbs., 4.53 forty – 2010
Good speed/quickness, excellent hands, will make a very good all-purpose back. Tough player with very strong work ethic. D-1 prospect.

Andrew Suarez – Middletown South HS, NJ – 5’10”, 175 lbs. – 2011
Good speed, excellent hands and ran good routes. Goes all out every play; tremendous work ethic. Again, another all-purpose back. 1AA/D-1 prospect.

Linebacker

Matt Paolillo – Red Bank Catholic HS, NJ – 6’1 1/2″, 215 lbs., 4.7 forty – 2011
Very strong, aggressive, solid in pass coverage, good footwork, can easily add 20 lbs. with build. D-1/1AA prospect.

Andre Hodge – Matawan, NJ – 6’0″, 225 lbs.
Very good prospect. Very physical and tough with a mean streak; always a plus for LBs. Good quickness and speed and did well in pass coverage. Played as a down lineman last year; looks like he should make the adjustment to LB and be an outstanding D-1 prospect.

O-Line/D-Line

Stephen Coluccio (OT/DE) – Middletown South, NJ – 6’4″, 240 lbs., 4.75 forty – 2010

Tough, quick and smart; Ivy League grades. Tremendous work ethic, excellent technique. Has room to add a lot of weight and still maintain speed and quickness. D1/1AA prospect on offense or defense.

Wide Receiver/Tight-End

WR – Rob Handy – Howell HS, NJ – 6’2″, 200 lbs., 4.65 forty – 2010
Big, strong WR with deceptive speed. Outstanding skill set and fundamentals. Great hands, consistent in his routes, great attitude, very smart. Ivy League grades. 1AA/1A prospect.

WR – Scott Siminson – Middletown South, NJ – 6’4″, 195 lbs., 4.7 forty – 2010
Hands outstanding, possibly best at camp. Routes also excellent, smart with strong work ethic, big strong receiver. 1AA prospect.

TE – Bobby Jacobs – Middletown South, NJ – 6’4″, 205 lbs. – 2010
Solid speed, goes all out, runs good routes and gets open. Plays DE also and was aggressive and tough in D-Line drills. 1AA prospect.

TE – Christian Spaulding – Midd South, NJ – 6’3″, 200 lbs. – 2011
Very good speed for a TE. Good hands, great work ethic and solid fundamentals. With added bulk, can be a solid D-1/1AA prospect.

Quarterbacks

Andrew Casten – Red Bank Catholic, NJ – 6’1″, 185 lbs., 4.5 forty – 2011
Strong arm, tremendous speed and athletic ablity. Should develop into a D-1 QB prospect.

Mike Villapiano – Rumson HS, NJ – 6’1″, 185 lbs. – 2011
Very accurate, very smart and coachable. Will develop into a D-1 QB. Son of former Oakland Raider star linebacker Phil Villapiano.

Joe Carlucci – St. John Vianney HS, NJ – 6’0″, 190 lbs. – 2010
Biggest suprise among QBs. Very strong arm, accurate, very good fundamentals. Very tough, dedicated type player. Will be a solid 1-AA QB.
