The previews will resume tomorrow and look to be wrapped up by Tuesday, and there will be features, my Top 10 and more as the week progresses leading up to opening night on Friday.
We also are releasing a newspaper version of our previews in the latest All Shore Media Sports Review, which will be delivered to all the schools by Wednesday and will be available in various locations in Monmouth and Ocean County, so be sure to look out for that as well.
On Tuesday, I’ll have a live chat at 7 p.m. here on the site so that we can talk about everything from the preseason thus far and the outlook for everything. One thing that is definitely a theme is the parity. I think there are 8-10 teams this year that have a chance to finish No. 1, and the rankings could be flipping like a slot machine weekly because of how closely matched much of the conference is this year.
I also will get to an alumni wrap-up from the opening college weekend, which included my Northwestern Wildcats rolling 47-14 over mighty Towson State as part of our (cough, cough) really tough nonconference schedule.
Also, unfortunately defensive tackle Dan Klecko (Marlboro) didn’t make the final cut with the Eagles, linebacker Kevin Malast (Manchester/Rutgers) was cut by the Bears and kicker Pete Czech (Keyport) did not survive the final cut for the Steelers.
